Robert Clay is an entrepreneur who at age 19 and 23 started two businesses in the automotive industry with no capital. He sold both businesses to a division of Astra Pharmaceutical (now Astra Zeneca) then played a major role in taking the combined business to No.1 in the world in its field.

Chris spent 3 years as a trainer, professional speaker and business coach for Martin International Inc., in and around Washington DC.

Returning to the UK in the mid-1990’s, he took up a sales consulting role with the European arm of an Australian company that offered coaching and marketing consultancy to businesses. He and other members of the company’s management team subsequently bought out the major UK shareholder. Chris went on to deliver coaching and marketing services to a wide range of businesses and remained a director until 2011, when he left to establish an independent consultancy before joining forces with Robert at Marketing Wizdom.

Over some 20 years Chris has developed high levels of proficiency with every aspect of increasing business through the scientific application of proven marketing principles. An accomplished public speaker, he also has an outstanding reputation for helping companies to identify how they can achieve breakthrough marketing results. Guy is an experienced chartered accountant, entrepreneur and author. A natural and driven enthusiast, he built and sold his own accountancy firm, as well as pursuing other commercial interests. He has been a director and part owner of a number of different companies, including businesses in the IT, property, defence, manufacturing and retail sectors. In an unusually varied career, he has been the senior partner of two accountancy firms, a finance director, sales and marketing director and an adviser and mentor to many entrepreneurial businesses and their owners.

Guy joined Smith & Williamson in 2008 and leads their entrepreneurial services group.  His day to day activities include advising entrepreneurs and their businesses and coordinating Smith & Williamson’s activities in this increasingly important market.
